# Managed Accounts (/docs/projects/settings-managed-accounts)



The Managed Accounts tab under Social Accounts shows social accounts
whose `discovery_source` is `"sideshift"`. These are not OAuth'd by
you — they're discovered/synced via SIFT as part of the Managed UGC
pipeline.

* No create / connect button — managed accounts don't originate here.

## Where they come from [#where-they-come-from]

The UGC / SideShift pipeline creates `social_accounts` rows with
`discovery_source = "sideshift"` as it syncs creators. See the
[UGC overview](/docs/ugc/overview) for how discovery works.

## Status [#status]

Managed accounts expose the same row data as Connected accounts but
the Managed Accounts tab filters the list so only sideshift-discovered
ones appear. For full OAuth-connected accounts, switch to the
[Connected tab](/docs/projects/settings-social-accounts).
