Onboarding Step 6: Connect Socials

Connect Instagram and TikTok. Optional; skippable.

View as Markdown

This step has exactly two connect buttons: TikTok and Instagram. YouTube, X, and LinkedIn are not wired up in this flow.

Flow

  1. Click TikTok or Instagram — an OAuth popup opens.
  2. Grant the requested scopes; pick the account if the platform exposes multiple.
  3. The connected account appears in the list below. Internally, the wizard also provisions the per-account onboarding layer (Social Distribution, Social Engagement, Account Health Monitor, plus a Social Content layer wired through LAYER_TEMPLATE_IDS.SOCIAL_ACCOUNT_ONBOARDING_SYSTEM).
  4. Connect another if you want (e.g. a second IG handle). When ready, click Continue.

Skipping

If no account is connected, the Continue button reads Skip for now and opens a confirmation dialog before advancing. You can connect social accounts later from Project settings → Social accounts.

Instagram requirements

Your Instagram needs to be a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page. You sign in via Meta Login and grant access to the Page

  • Instagram.

Managed accounts

Separate from this OAuth flow, Layers also supports managed accounts — handles Layers operates for you — but those are provisioned by a Layers CSM, not via this wizard step.
