# Create an Organization (/docs/organizations/create)



Your first organization is created during onboarding. You can create more
at any time from the organization switcher.

## Form fields [#form-fields]

| Field             | Required | Notes                                  |
| ----------------- | -------- | -------------------------------------- |
| Organization name | Yes      | Shown in the switcher and on invoices. |
| Description       | No       | Free-form internal description.        |

You become the **Org Owner** automatically on creation.

## Multiple organizations [#multiple-organizations]

Why have more than one organization?

* **Legal separation** — different legal entities.
* **Data residency** — keep regional deployments separate.
* **Acquisition** — one org per acquired brand to keep books clean.
* **Sandbox** — test org for experimenting without contaminating production.

## What's not created automatically [#whats-not-created-automatically]

A new organization starts with:

* No projects.
* No connected social or ad accounts.
* Default billing status (see [Billing](/docs/organizations/billing) for how
  the subscription tier is assigned).

You'll be prompted to create your first project immediately after creating
the organization.

## Additional settings [#additional-settings]

Logo, billing email, and other organization-level fields can be updated
later from [Org Settings](/docs/organizations/settings).
